Tech Tuesday: Improve Your Meeting Attendee’s ROI with Networking Technology

A report by Conventions 2020 on the future of meetings, events, exhibitions and conferences looked at the incentives for attending events and found that 76% of respondents cited the quality of networking as the single biggest factor that would encourage them to attend events. The networking factor beat out content, interaction and use of technology to take the number one motivating spot. In addition, the average person carries 2.9 electronic devices including smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Today we’re in Washington, DC at the PMPI MACE conference. We wanted to talk about a few of our favorite venues and activities in the Capital. Omni Shoreham Hotel Today’s conference is hosted, for the second year, by the Omni Shoreham Hotel. Built in 1930 by local construction company owner Harry Bralove, the building was designed by Waddy Butler Wood. The hotel has also been an entertainment venue, having been the home of Mark Russell and The Capitol Steps. Boston may be covered in snow right now, but after being named the US Olympic Committee’s 2024 Summer Olympic Bid choice nobody can deny that Boston is a hot destination. I had the pleasure of visiting Boston for the first time a year ago for PCMA’s 2014 Convening Leaders and discovered that this historic city has a lot to offer.
