Do’s & Dont’s: Lessons From MPI’s WEC 2015

We’ve just returned from Meeting Professionals International’s World Education Congress in San Francisco, CA. Here’s a few lessons we’d like to share with you.

DO: Host your conference in San Francisco

San Francisco was an incredible backdrop for this year’s WEC. From the sights and sounds, to the food and drinks, San Francisco didn’t hold back a thing! The conference took on a truly San Francisco feel as well. From it’s use of emerging technology, to incorporating iconic San Francisco brands, you knew exactly where you were.

Although the decor of the opening reception was wonderful, and the majority of the circus performers were quite enjoyable, coulrophobia (fear of clowns) is very real my friends! The opening reception did include some wonderful wine tasting from wine country, and great food!

DO: take your attendees on an emotional journey

Through MPI’s Flashpoint sessions, they took the WEC attendees on a rollercoaster ride in the best way. With speakers like Liz Murray (Homeless to Harvard), Kai Kight (world class violinist), and Pamela Meyer (Liespotting), MPI really took the inspiration to the next level. Check out this video of Kai Kight’s original piece written for WEC.
